Retrospective on My 2010 BTECH exhibition

My stand was created out of Xanita board. I was lucky to have my two friends, Cara and Jeremy and my boyfriend Joel to assist me build the stand. If it wasn't for them this stand wouldn't happen. 

On the stand is all my products that i developed. This product range was developed around the concept of, "products created with the intention to stimulate child communication and social development". 

This sign was created by my friend Cara and I. We got our sewing machines going and we created these felt letters to hang at my stand. in between i have some felt mannetjies as well.

It is good to look back! 

Birthday Calender for Avia

A Friend asked me if i could do a Birthday Calender for his daughter. His brief to me was that she likes tigers and butterflies. I really enjoyed doing this because i felt that here i am giving someone a personalized calender for his daughter Avia, that he is not going to find anywhere else.

"Pages from my Illustration Book "Sometimes"

It has been long time but i have finally finished the illustrations for my book on emotions. I have called this illustration book "Sometimes". The word "Sometimes" just shows that specific emotions are a temporary feeling. Every feeling I express in the book is followed by the opposing emotion e.g. "feeling loved" followed by "feeling lonely". My point with my book is to create awareness of emotions. I en the book off with "the best times are, when i get a hug from my friends and family".

I am busy on an idea for my next illustration book. I want it to be about emotions. I do feel that children need to be aware of their emotions and of other people’s emotions. Understanding emotion helps you understand people and helps you respond in a certain way.  

My business card design

Today i designed a business card. Tomorrow Friday 23 September 2010 i will be at the Durbanville Racecourse for a design event. Me and a classmate will be showcasing our work at a stand from 8am till 12pm.

"Making Tea" - Illustration book

This is a story about how the "tea family" and other friends came together to make tea. The story's aim is to show children that great things can be achieved when we work together.
